More Life Saving Drugs included for Duty Exemption

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 23/98-Customs, dated the 2nd June,1998, namely : -

In the said notification, -
(a) in the Table, -

(i) after serial No. 48 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted, namely :-

(1)	(2)	(3)	(4)	(5)	(6)
"48A	2905.11	Methanol	25%	-	-


(ii) after serial No.89, for the entry in column (4) do entry "Nil" shall be substituted;

(iii) after serial No. 131 and the entries relating to thereto, the following shall be inserted, namely:-

(1)	(2)	(3)	(4)	(5)	(6)
"131A	76.02	Aluminum waste & scarp	10%	-	-

(b) in List 2, after item (258), the following items Shall be added, namely,

"(259) Zalcitabine
(260) Saquinavir

(261) AZT (Azidodeoxy thymidine)
(262) Ritonavir."
