General Notes for Engineering Products
1. Wherever import of steel is allowed, the specification of steel imported and that used in the export product should conform within the tolerance limits. In respect of export of Steel products (whether finished or semifinished) in Primary, Flat, Rolled, Drawn, Forged or Cast form, the criteria of conformity shall be governed by the specifications given in the explanatory notes of the "Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HSN).
2. Wherever Aluminium is allowed for import, the same would mean Aluminium Ingots in the form of Pigs / Sows / Slabs and T-Bars (PUBLIC NOTICE No. 43(PN)/1997-2002 DATED 25-9-1997).
3. In respect of Galvanised Export Products, which are sought to be exported in Ungalvanised form, licences may be granted under the respective standard Input Output Norms allowing all the other inputs except Zinc.
