Objective
With a view to providing wider options to persons of Indian nationality/origin residing abroad (NRIs) and overseas corporate bodies predominantly owned by NRIs (OCBs) and to provide a facility to other non-resident individuals/entities for making investments in India Non-resident (Non-repatriable) Rupee Deposit Scheme (NRNR) has been formulated. The scheme has been in operation with effect from 15th June 1992.
