In exercise of the powers conferred by. Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 1.3 of the Export and lmport Policy, 1997 -2002 (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.2000), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments In the said Export and Import Policy, 1997 -2002.
The following additions shall be made against the entry at ITC (HS) Code No. 0703(1) relating to onions of all varieties (other than Bangalore Rose Onion and Krishnapuram Onions) under the column, 'nature the restriction' in "ITC (HS) Classification of Import and Export items" 1997-2002 incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998 in Schedule 2 Table B in continuation of Notification No.31 (RE-2000)/1997-2002, dt. the 24th August, 2000.
In addition to the quantity already released, a further quantity of 50,000 M. Tonnes of onionsis allowed to be exported through NAFED.
NAFED would procure the above said quantity from within Maharashtra State; and export the same either directly or through the Registered Exporters on the same terms and conditions as laid down in earlier Notification No.16 (RE-2000) 1997 -2002, dt. 17th May, 2000
The quantity of onions now released shall be exported by 30th November, 2000.
