NOTIFICATION NO. 23/2010, DT. 18/02/2011

Prohibition on export of milk powders(including skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy whitener and infant milk foods), Casein and Casein products.

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014, the Central Government, with immediate effect, makes the following amendments in Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import Items.

2. A new entry at Sl. No. 33 B in Chapter 4 relating to “Dairy produce; bird's eggs; natural honey; edible products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included” of Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) shall be added as follows:

3. A new chapter 35 with Sl. No. 140 B is inserted in Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) as follows:

3.1. Export consignments of milk powders (including skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy whitener and infant milk foods), Casein and Casein products which were handed over to customs for examination and export on or before 18.02.2011 will be allowed for export.

4. Effect of this notification:

The export of milk powders (including skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy whitener and infant milk foods), Casein and Casein products has been prohibited and hence not allowed to be exported till further orders.

(Pl. refer NTF. NO. 83/2010, DT. 31/10/2011 - Exemption for export of excise verified stock of 1053. 625 MTs of casein and casein products manufactured prior to imposition of ban on export of milk products i.e. 18.02.2011.)
