Amendments in Table B under Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications - 1005
2. With immediate effect, the entry at 46B in Table B under Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09, stands substituted as under:-

2. The above prohibition/restriction shall remain in force till 15th October, 2008.
3. The transitional arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, as amended from time to time, shall be applicable for export of the aforesaid items. Further, exporters shall be permitted to get their existing Letters of Credit, which were opened prior to the date of ban and which are eligible under the Transitional Arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, extended beyond original validity and time period for a further period of 18 days.

3.1 Ban on export of maize shall not be applicable to export of 25000 MTs of maize to be exported by M/s Emmsons International, New Delhi under United Nations World Food Programme to Kenya, Somalia and Burundi and is meant for United Nations humanitarian relief operations in these countries.
